You know, cats really may be the happiest creatures on earth. They don't worry about the budget. They don't worry about their health or their weight, they just count on us to take care of that. They don't worry about how they are going to go on vacation, and they don't worry about their kids getting lost at Disneyworld, or even in the mall. They don't worry about guarding the house like the dog does. They don't worry about getting eaten by your parakeet. They don't really worry about the dog stalking them because they know they can scratch his eyes out in a split second. They can find a place to hide if they get caught in the rain. They can always curl up in a tight enough ball to keep warm if the rain turns to snow. If in the house, they can find the smallest patch of warm sunshine and find a way to fit into it. They never lack for food because even if they stray from home they can look cute enough to beg food away from strangers. Never mind the people who say dogs have the best life....they don't own cats, obviously. I own both kinds of animals and the dog is pretty spoiled too, but the cats definitely have a better and more spoiled life.

I agree with you that cat's must be the most happy animals in the world. But only when they are with people who realy care about them. Thake me for exemple. I give every thing for them. When they are sleeping I can watch them for hours just becaurse they seem so peacefull.

We have one cat that wakes my husband in the night. The problem is when he wakes him he usually sits on my face, so that wakes me up too. This usually makes me grumpy and I wake up and push him off me and yell at the cat. Not nice I know, but I never had an animal do that to me before and I really like my sleep.

I am in agreement with you about cats! They are very serene creatures and when a cat has a good life it seems like they have a GREAT life. I have always had cats and they make wonderful pets. They sleep on the bed with me, usually, although this has had to stop as I have a baby.
People who are cruel to animals are bad bad people. I yearn for a world where this kind of cruelty does not exist.
But I do think that cats can be subject to anxiety just like other animals! Obviously all the descriptions of the cats here mean that they are all very well treated happy cats, credit is due to their owners or should I say carers.

We own both a dog and four cats. Dog knows I dislike cats. One cat doesn't care that I dislike cats. He still makes cuddle and purr with me. Dog gives all the respect necessary to the cats and also has a lot of fun playing with them. Although Dogs are more preferred for me, I would never put up with anyone I knew who was abusing cats or any animal. They would be reported to animal protection immediately.

I completely agree with you. I have two Siamese cats, and they both just inherently know, that they are the MOST superior creatures on the face of this planet and any other. However, there are many stray, wild, and feral cats, that have alot to worry about. My heart goes out to them. I wish I could take them all in, and take care of them too, so they wouldn't have to worry about all those things. As for my three dogs...well, life just couldn't be better !!!

I also had both. Right now my chihuahuas are spoiled rotten but...I had a Siamese who I named Cleopatra be she thought she was a beautiful (which she was) queen who deserved to be utterly spoiled and if she did not approved of something I did for her she would give me a look of such utter disdain it took me back. I never thought an animal could be capable of showing exactly how she felt. She lived to a ripe old age still able to boss the dogs around.

Our 4 cats are our family, they are totally spoilt, they have their own beds OUR beds, we don't disturb them if they are sleeping on the sofa, we never shoo them off, we accommodate them. They don't have a care in the world, they are very independent and they expect us to groom them and to attend to their every whim and heart's desire. They are given tuna and even get to lick our plates and have the run of the house, in fact the cats are treated better than humans. In return we get their love and their company.
