No, but BOY does my mother! She cooks the cabbage with a the dime in it on New Years, so who ever gets it on their plate will have the best luck for the year. One year we never found it! LOL

Here in North Carolina, black-eyed peas and collard greens are on the dinner table. Even though the collard greens are supposed to bring money, I don't touch them...YUCK! I don't remember what the black-eyed peas are for. Coins or something.
My sister-in-law is from Columbia and one of their customs is to run around the house with a suitcase to bring abut travel in the new year. We were also to eat twelve grapes making a wish with each grape.

I don't even have an idea what collard greens are but they do sound yuckky! LOL. Anyway, thanks for the reply and we do eat grapes here too with wishes.

I've heard of people who have to open the front door and the back door on the stroke of midnight. It's to let in the new year and let out the old year. The only traditions I carry on is making new year's resolutions and then breaking them.

i am not superstition about new year when the year changed i had a good sleep, watching or enjoying is just a waste of time and money, in my country( india) there are lot of problems like power shortage poverty is there upto some extent if people want to enjoy rather than enjoying it if they had put that money to help someone you would be happy fo life i think
