Should schools bring back the paddle?

I remember when I was in school and you got in trouble you would get a paddling in the principals office. That always scared me into being good. Do you think this type of punishment should be allowed in schools? Would it help straighten children out or make them worse?

I think the paddle is a little extreme and would make children more rebelious, not to mention the uproar from the parents. I would agree that something should be done to make children more respectful of authority. It isn't the same today as it was 10 or 20 years ago. JLD
