Which Computer monitor are Safe -- CRT montors or LCD

Can anyone tell which type of Monitors are safe from health point of view , a CRT monitor or a LCD monitor. What kind of monitor are u using. Are there any extra benefits by using LCD monitor.

I heard a lot about safety of CRT and LCD monitors, but I'm not sure if LCD monitors are better from this point of view. LCD monitor are smaller in size and weight, they are brighter and consume less power but I think CRT monitor have better image quality.
