Should satellite TV companies let customers choose pick and pay for cheannels they want as opposed to having 200 channels you never watch?

I really don't know about this one. If so, it might mean that some of favorite channels, even though they might not be very popular, might not be able to survive.
I also wonder about the cost. You would think that it would be a little bit cheaper, but I really wonder if it would be. I also enjoy channel surfing. Everyso often I come across and interesting show or movie on a channel that I hadn't seen before. So, I think that I would probably choose to keep all of the channels that I have no.
However, it is also important to note that satellite companies are companies. I think that means that they should be able to run their businesses however they want. I heard a while back about this and how something had to be approved. I honestly can't remember if it was some type of goverment approval or something, but I don't think anything like that is needed. If they want to change the way their business is run; they should be able go right ahead and do so.
