What problems have you encountered in an inter-racial relationship?

The world is becoming a smaller and smaller place with people being able to travel more than ever before. As a result of this, people are able to visit different countries and form relationships.
However, many different races have different personalities and value different things. Different races can also have different senses of humor and different ideas about love.

While I've never had an inter-racial relationship, when I lived in Japan I hated how the American men treated the Japanese girls. What was worse were the attitudes on the married men! They acted like they were so much better and civilized than regular American men but in reality, they would be the bottom of the barrel back in the US. I hated how controlling they were and how they flirted with every other Japanese girl that came around when they weren't with their wives. These girls were all so sweet too and deserved much better in my opinion.
I just hope men who visit from countries other than the US treat Japanese women better! Sorry I had to vent. :)

I agree with you. Insolent men would deserve to be not able to see wonderful and beautiful women. They would deserve to have their women dressed as are the arab women, from legs until the hair.
I mean not their wives, but ANY other beautiful woman they meet on the street.
The idiots think they deserve whatever they can see in the street - ha ha ...

My wife and I are of different races and I've experienced no problems within our relationship. My family is very diverse and members of it are from every continent except Antarctica. Outside our relationship I occasionally encounter racist idiots, but I typically blow them off. People that ignorant are not worth my time. I think you're right about different cultures having different senses of humor and such, but my wife and I balance each other so well that our differences complement each other, rather than divide us.

I don't have direct experiences of this type . If you mean by inter racial the marriage between say a white to a black , or an Indian to a Japanese etc. than I have no knowledge .
But within the Indian community there are caste segregation and even untouchability though in reducing rate . I have seen families of Brahmins with Tribal people , I have seen Khatriyas with SUdras . I feel from these I would tell the happyness of a falmily depends on the two persons cming to the wed lock and not on external factors .

I used to have a korean girlfriend before, but eventually we broke up =(...anyways, i think the problem of an inter-racial relationship is both of you have different way of percepting things and communication (it's really hard specially if your special someone don't know how to speak and understand english fluently)

I have some problems here in Bolivia.Mainly it is the attitude of others that effects us , when people see me with a Bolivian girl out and about they stare - very rudely. Sometimes its curiosity but often I see disgust on their faces. Im an english whie guy and people can be very small minded here when it comes to that - they see it as me 'coming and stealing their women' or they presume im just rich and often think im paying for the girl to be with me.They just think we've met and want to be with each other. Its hard sometimes and I know it is going to cause some trouble for me one day.
