Nothing, just a organic material. No rebirth, No heaven, No hell, Nothing. Its all to misguide us. No matter you burry or burn a dead body! The creature once left is just left for ever that's all. The theories are made to threaten you. The fact is that only the beloved remember you for few years and enemies enjoy & relax like winners? Any thing beyond this? Tell me if you can justify any heaven or hell. What's a soul or ghost? All irrelavent imaginations, nothing scientific, No proofs, No facts.

If I "believe in what I believe" does that make me right? Does that make me God?

This is a matter of belief, either you believe or not that is your own prerogative. I also do not believe in hell or heaven but yes I believe in the concept of soul.

Can you atleast explain in detail, what the soul means from your point of view please? I think this too is imaginary.

Do you have proof for everything? It is only belief. How do you know that you are born to your parents? It is a belief because others said it. You are thinking only the material aspect of the body. Body is different from the soul. Without soul there is no identity to the body. You say body is seen and soul is not seen. Can you be alive without that soul? Body is made up of flesh, bones, nerves etc., But soul is made up of air, fire, values, virtues etc.,which cannot be seen but felt. You go through Hindu religious books to study the material world and spiritual world. You will understand more which is helpful for one`s life.

I agree to your thoughts. It is not sensible to believe on something that cannot be proved.

Good atheist post! I'm an atheist, and I'm to tell you you got it right! There ain't nothing out there! Just a bunch of people wishing a father-figure is watching over them! Too amny strange and miserable things happen to believe in such myths. "Let us eat and drink for tomorrow we die" (I Cor 15:32)

Sure the body is burried and that is what is left but the soul is what leaves the body and goes on forever. Theories to threaten you? I don't quite understand why that would be. The word of God is heard around the world daily if you open your ears and especialy your eyes. I don't remember for just a few years either. I remember those and what they did not only for me but for others as well, how they were an impact on my life good or bad and learn from them. I carry them with me always. If you don't know what a soul is you must be a lonely person. Your soul is what makes you who you are. You are a spirit when you are no longer here physically. Your soul is your being. Ghost to me is just a word to describe a spirit among us. There are people who have seen these spirits and felt them as well. How can you say it's ones imagination when that means you only believe something? When someone actually feels it and sees it then it's not ones imagination or the brain playing tricks. I hope you have a great life on earth as will I but in my final resting place I will go on to live a life in heaven where there will be no crime, crying or sadness. I live my life today knowing that there is a better place when I die. May God touch your heart and teach what life is all about. Bless you.

hello oarnamav - very very glad to see your posting for discussion such a nice topic which i was searching since my joining. well , the answers to your thoughts/questions are many . before explaining the facts , u need the understand the concep of creation/preseervation and destruction . the three basic activities of anything. the existence leades to preservation and it leads to destruction. i am trying to explain u with an example. actually it is not very easily cov ered in one small discussion . I am reproducing the same in nutshell. for more details pls mail me in jsrinivasan@ntpc.co.in. Ex: suppose you are going to make some object say umbrella. wht u will do , first work out the necessary materials for that , prepare your budget, go for shop to buy the item then assemble the things then put that into use. it will be purely yours and you may give the same to some one for use and one day the umbrella is going to torn , do not say that it won't torn. it has to due to its usage, warn and tear is possible. and it will collapse one day . then wht u do , u may re use the inner components to best of other services till it works . but at last ultimately after a span of time , your umbrella will be no more. then wht is existing. the root cause. the basic needs, the knowledge that is existing . u have said all are imaginations nothing scientific no proof no fact. if i say that in ramayana ram made the umbrella and given to his people. Lord krishna lifted the mountain as umbrella . agreed the facts presented to us is only to just form an opinion aboutthe god. that's all. in the example after your umbrella goes for nothing . say after 10 years if i tell any one that you have made the umbrella and using wht is the reality that the person will beleive. because at that years of life super internet and super scientifc items will be there. all will be machine. he wont beleive the existence of an umbrella , made by u and use by u . the entire concept will be clear if U happen to read Bhagawat Gita/Bhagavatam/Vishnu puran . for more reference books pls call me. WHAT IS THE FINAL CONCLUSION , THE CREATOR CREATED THE SOUL AS HIS INCARNATION , GIVEN A DIFFERENT FORM LIKE ANIMAL/BIRD/DEVIL/HUMANBEING/GHOST ETC.ETC. AND HE DOES THIS AS A PLAY AND IN THIS PLAY WE ALL ARE ACTORS ACTING AS PER HIS WISH AND WILL . AS SOON AS THE DRAMA ENDS , WE NEED TO GO BACK TO HIM . BUT THERE IS THE BREAK. If he is satisfied in your acting , he calls u back to him and if not u will take re birth and suffer suffer suffer till u get yourself purified and at last u will go back. sorry , i have given a long explanation . But this is the real. universe/heaven/earth/hell all are real and exsisting and the soul is just roaming around the all above and ultimately crosses all to merge or unite with the super soul that is god. hope u are clear to some extent . pls comment

Well this is a topic I think about frequently. Are we taught religious beliefs to keep us behaving well? Are we taught that there will be punishment for what we do wrong in this life, in the hereafter in order to control us? I don't believe that this is the complete story. although there are those who would try to keep us in line by using these techniques, they frequently dont believe them themselves. I believe that the simple principles that govern the universe come into play here and that when one does die, there is something waiting, different for each person depending. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction (have I got that scientific principle right)! Or call it Karma although Karma is supposed to be for this life, right? Definitely I think at some point we have to pay for our sins, be it now or in the next life. Just because there is no proof doesn't mean it doesn't exist! Just as you think it can't be proved (existence of God and Heaven etc) you sure as H can't prove that these things don't exist.

What do mean "karma" is not found in dictionary. Is it the sins done by us? Who tempts us to do this then? Why people do sins? why not all of them are good natured only? What goes wrong with them? when? & why?

You must live a terribly boring life, no belief in anything beyond, no visions of angels, no hope that we will get our rewards.. I have lived with ghosts, and I can assure you I am quite sane and educated. Granted the carbon form we have goes away but life force does not, are we reincarnated, maybe in hopes we get it right the next time. God bless you friend, go in peace

Agree with you, just a question how would you account for a number of supernatural/mysterious encounters. All of these shows that there is some supernatural power beyond our imagination

there is something on the other side.. but everyone have different opinions abt it.. it is better to leave it that way since it gives rise to no of interesting stories.. this might sound strange but i am anxious to die to find out the true... guess i would have to wait

To believe in heaven, hell, God and Jesus it takes faith. Do we have any actual proof that things exist? I think so. Just look around and see how everything around us goes hand in hand? That can't just be an accident. Do I believe there is something after life? Yes, I do. No because that's what I was brought up to believe but because of too many things I've seen in my 48 years on this planet.

It's hard for me to really imagine anything but it just ending once you die. An after life where you live eternally in either ideal or terrible conditions just seems so abstract, almost silly to me.

Life forms may have had to start out very simple and then became increasing co mplex as time passed because the souls to occupy them would have to advance through the reincarnation cycle. Logically this would explain why life on earth evolved the way it did as shown by the scientific evidence.

Honestly, I believe in the fact that there's someone who wanted us to believe that everything is written in the scriptures. And he's extra-terrestrial. There are things still unexplained fully by science nor the scriptures of any belief. Because a lot of people used the fact for their benefit and it took thousands of years to evolve into what we believe right now. I believe in ghosts. Because I always see one. Life is like a wheel. Humans have been the dominant species ever since. Only that civilizations built and crumble and built again.
