British girl,5 mauled to death by pitbull

I just readed this on my local news website.this is awfull,the girl died on the spot an grandmother is in the hospital an the dog was killed. why in the world did all of this have to happen?

I dont agree with having dogs around children, you hear of it alot the dogs can be nice one minute then they just turn you just never know, i think this is awful.
