I am preparing for a trip to Australia later this year. Can anyone advise me on any books I should read before my trip?

Do your research on the internet! Depending on which city in Australia you wish to visit, their tourism office has their own websites. There are heaps on information available on the net.
I visited Sydney in June 2006, and got all my information from the internet! There are laod of information available. You can also try requesting for brochures to be sent to you depending on the country you live in. You can also find the tour operators that conduct day trips on the net. YOu should consider joining some day tours if you don't drive. They are very value for money. I did that in Perth & Sydney & enjoyed myself very much!
Happy holidays! :)

Thank you very much..I have been doing some internet research just seems I cannot get specific enough information. I do have all the information for my visa and passport etc. but I am looking for more specifics. I will try researching the city where I will be staying. Thanks Again!

Any travel books you can pick up at a local Barnes and Noble would probably be good. Flip through them and pick out one or two you like. They have TONS. Or, a good bet is to check out some web sites that are affiliated with Australia's government so that you will have a heads up on laws and such. I personally have not gotten a chance to go to Australia yet but that is probably where I would start. I plan to go there in 2010, which seems like miles away, but hopefully will be here before I know it. Here is a good place to start, too, if you are from the US:

Couldn't copy and paste it, but that should be close!
