Windows Vista incorporates a new version of Internet Explorer. While many users have upgraded to Internet Explorer 7 through Automatic Updates for Windows XP, Windows Vista will integrate Internet Explorer 7 very closely into the User Account Control as well as the Windows Defender. -User Interface- Simple is good. A redesigned, streamlined interface gives you more of what you need and less of what you don't. The new look maximizes the area of the screen that displays the webpage. -Tabbed Browsing- Open multiple websites in one Internet Explorer 7 window with tabbed browsing. See thumbnail images of all open tabs in a single view. Organize multiple tabs into a single tab group and save it as a favorite. -Printing- Internet Explorer 7 automatically shrinks text for improved printing , so all webpage content fits on your final printed page. Print options also include adjustable margins, customizable page layouts, removable headers and footers, and changeable print space. -RSS Feeds- Tired of looking for the latest news and information on the web? Internet Explorer 7 can deliver the latest updates from your favorite sites to you. Subscribe to RSS feeds through Internet Explorer 7, and get instant access to personalized sports, news, and shopping feeds that keep you up to date on the latest information online. -Searching- Search the Internet directly from the browser frame using your favorite search provider with the instant search box. -Security- Robust new Internet Explorer 7 architecture and improved security features help protect you against malicious software, and help to keep your personal data safe from fraudulent websites and online phishing scams.

I am using Windows Vista Ultimate. Once Vista is released on January 29, 2007 there is most certainly a way to do a direct upgrade from Windows XP, however I do not recommend you do a direct upgrade, instead do a clean install by backing up your windows XP data and then installing Vista, and restoring your XP information.

It depends on whether you bought a new computer recently and it has the Windows Vista Express Upgrade, which enables a new PC buyer to purchase a Windows XP computer right now and when Vista comes out, you will receive an upgrade for a nominal fee. If you have had your version of XP for a while or purchased your Windows XP machine from a manufacturer that does not support the Express Upgrade Program you will use the Windows Vista Anytime Upgrade which will be more expensive than the express upgrade but will still be cheaper than buying the brand new product. When you upgrade you receive a Windows Vista CD that will allow you to install clean (new) or upgrade from Windows XP saving all of your programs and settings. Keep in mind that while an upgrade is easier, you may experience problems after installation, or even loose all of your data, so watch out and backup your data either way. The costs are as follows: New Version •Vista Ultimate $450 •Vista business $341 •Vista home Premium $269 •Vista home Basic $233 Upgrade Version •Vista Ultimate Upgrade $269 •Vista business Upgrade $224 •Vista home Premium Upgrade $179 •Vista home Basic Upgrade $116 Note: these prices are not final, I believe that the "Upgrade" prices are for the Vista Anytime Upgrade Program, and not the Express Upgrade. I will see if I can find the prices for the express upgrade. (original price article: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/531825.aspx )

Interesting. I will have to check it out. Do they have free downloads or do you have to purchase the software. I had not heard about this yet. Is it out already? If so, how much does it cost. Do they have a beta version that people can try out? Is this an MS product or an IE product. Do you have it? Is it working well for you?

Internet Explorer 7 is available only for the Windows Operating System. If you have Windows XP it most likely has been distributed to your computer if you have automatic updates turned on. Internet Explorer 7 will be distributed with Windows Vista and integrated tightly into the Operating system.
