I haven't used mine in so long. I wanted one so bad a few years ago and I finally got one. I used it for a bit and then haven't touched it ever since. I would like to start using it again but I'd love some suggestions on good recipes for it. Thanks.

I like to use my slow cooker for making chinese style clear soup. I have a simple recipe here which you may like to try. The ingredients include beef, celery, potato, carrot, fresh shitake mushroom and big onion. The spice used is anistar. Put all the ingredients into the slow cooker and add enough water to cover. Turn on 'high' button and when the water starts to boil, change to 'auto' or 'slow' button. Allow 3 hours of cooking time or until the beef turns tender. Ready to serve. I used to prepare cut chilli with black sauce as a dip. Of course, it's up to you.

My favourite recipe is pork roast in the slow cooker. Brown the pork roast in bacon fat on all sides. Then season the roast with pepper, garlic powder and thyme. Add 1/2 cup of apple juice and cook on low for 7-9 hours, or high for 5 hours. The apple juice is the real key to this recipe. It is so delicious.
I love using the slow cooker if I can think a day in advance what I want to make. Use stewing beef to make beef strogonoff - just cut the beef into bite-size pieces, put in slow cooker, season and add 1/2 cup of beef broth. I also add some flour to try and make the sauce thicker but it doesn't seem to work. LOL! Oh, the original recipe includes mushrooms by I don't put those in because no one else here likes them but you can add a can of mushrooms. Just before you serve, add a container of garlic and herb cream cheese. Stir until well mixed and heated. Serve over noodles. My kids love it!
