I too have had Crohns for 25 years. I am scheduled for a fistula repair this Friday as a matter of fact. I have had 3 major surgeries. First one a few years after diagnosis, a bowel resection and then ok for about 10 years with no meds. Then the last few years have been quite challenging since I gave in and got an ileostomy. Then they moved the ileostomy from my left side to the right side for no good reason that I can come up with til this day. This was last year and the year before. I am so tired since they had me on prednisone and now I am weaning off the dosage. I loved the energy for the first 2 weeks and got alot done around the house! Anyway, keep in touch here and always nice to have a cronnie friend!

Okay I can laugh because I have crohn's too. But what a Subject to share "experiences" with. I'm sorry but it just made me laugh.
I was only diagnosed about 15 years ago, but I sure suffered for 10 years before that being misdiagnosed with irritable bowel, nervous stomach blah blah
I'm doing very well right now, I thought the stress of Xmas and eating the wrong foods would start a flare up, but thank goodness not this time.
How's yours? I try to live life as normal as possible and get alot of support from my family when I am in crisis. But at times it really upsets me that it can have so much power in my life.
Not eating what I want when I want, not eating before I have to go somewhere, not eating because of the pain and then there are the steroids....gotta love those. I refuse Prednisone and insist on Entocort. The side effects don't seem as bad.
What a nasty disease to have.

Hi there, its nice to know that there are others out there that have crohns aswell (not that I would WANT others to have it ) Seems that there are not that many people that actually know what the disease is. I have only been diagnosed with Crohns for 6 years and have already had 5 surgeries. I feel great at the moment, lets hope I stay like it.

Hello back, I am new to mylot too and my 11 year old daughter just was diagnosed with Crohn's in Feb. of this year. It has been a tough 3 months for her and the family. She has been a major flare-up and has had 3 hospitalizations since diagnosis. The Dr. has tried Prednisone, Azasan, and just this past week, Remicade. Do you have any experience with any of these meds. She is due for her next 2nd Remicade treatment one week from today. The results of the 1st dose is mixed in my opinion. I would love to hear from you too. You have been dealing with it forever!!! Maybe you could help her and myself also
