Well I tried to play guitar as child with 5 years since my father bought one because of low price. But I wasn't able to play with more string at same time (accords-major/minor) due to my short fingers but I played it with one or two strings without problems. Since I'm already played block flute and I knew to read musical notes that wasn't problem for me to play same songs on the guitar. Couple years after that my father bought me one syntisizer what was good for learning..
Last Year I got some inspiration and I made on my Casio three compositions for piano and flute . Well maybe I'll put one of them on my profile..:)

I learned to play the clarinet while I was in elementary school and played all through high school. I really enjoyed playing in both the concert and marching bands. As far as mastering it, I don't think I did while I was in school. I had too many other things on my mind at the time. When I look back now, I wish I had concentrated more and practiced more.
As an adult, I joined the community band, just a small group that plays together at a concert once a year. There are so many other players who are so much better than I am and it has made me practice so much more than I ever did as a child. I still don't feel I have mastered it, but I guess I do pretty well... I just know I enjoy music and love to play.

I have played a guitar since I was 12. I play by ear, wouldn't know a note if it hit me in the face. I just know where the sounds are that I want to play. It is call feeling the music.

Im playing guitar for 10 years now.At first i cdnt played n quit after trying for month. Then i started playing again after an year. The basic of the guitar is the fingure practice. You should know the note on every fret.
Learning something depends on your sense of picking that thing.A person with good sense of music can learn playing in an year and a person who is not gifted with this talent wont ever be able to play.

I love the guitar, but have no talent with music. I'm an artist. Thank you for sharing with me.

I play guitar, and have been for about 2 and half years now.
I play an Ibanez S470DX, which I bought roughly 2 years ago, 2nd hand but as new condition.
You can't really 'master' the guitar. You might excel in a certain genre or be a great all round player, but theres just so many aspects its impossible to 'master' the guitar as a whole.
When I first took it up, it was only to put an old acoustic in the cupboard to good use, and to play with my friends who started getting lessons at school. I taught myself for about 6 months before I started lessons, and had learnt quite alot.
Nowadays I play in a band with friends and its just great fun getting up on stage at a gig and rippin out a solo :D

Thank you so much for sharing that with me. You are better than me, I could never play it, but love the guitar.

Mastering an instrument needs a lot of time... i play guitar and ive been playing for almost 8 years but still i cant say that im quite good enough, its hard to tell. Technically, this field must be taken by musicians. Well, they're the ones who gives a lot of time practicing, wasting, etc... blah! blah! blah! Everybody can master an instrument if only they have perseverance. Pratice makes it better but not that perfect.
