Was there a lot of shooting where you are for New Years?

It sounded like a war was going on where I live. The gun shooting started about 11:00 and did not end until about 12:30. To me that's just nuts, I really don't see the sense in it and it's dangerous too. Those bullets have to come down somewhere.

That's ironic because there was a shooting here too last night! More of about seven gunshots went off at 2 am which scared the crap out of me since I was sleeping.
I don't see the sense in it either, it's very scary and just not worth it.
