What do you think is the best age for a girl to get their ears pierced?

I didn't have my ears pierced until i was 11.I know alot of babies have their ears done already but i just didnt agree with it.My daughter is now one year old and i'm glad with my decision as she pulls at her ears alot with teething. I have decided that when she is school aged and wants them done,it will be a birthday gift and meaningful. Please share your opinion:) Oh and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I think that the age of a girl to get their ears pierced should be beteen 7-10 years old I had my two daughters ears pierced around this age and they both were happy about it and wanted it done. Happy New Year to you as well.

Thanks for your answer.I think that age bracket is great and i'm pleasantly surprised with the replies i've been getting.A couple of relatives have complained that i havent pierced my daughters ears yet.I feel better that others share my viewpoint,thanks.

I have two daughters and I thought hard about having their ears pierced beforw they each turned 1. I just never got around to it. Now my girls are 6 and 4 and they both got their ears pierced when they turned 4. It was their decision to have it done and they love chosing different earrings to wear.

Thanks for the reply.I think it's great that they decided it's what they wanted.I feel these days,too many parents make the choices for their children instead of giving them to chance to decide for themselves!

yeah I do also not agree with this baby ears pierces. It´s better and wait as u say and make it then like a gift or a thing like extra plus for have done great in school or something like that. Some girls dosen´t want it thought and then I´m glad for not have done it early then my daughter were baby

I wasn't allowed untill I was 13. I think 10 or 11 is about right myself.
