Super Dollfies - How Can Anyone Support The Habit?

Good god, I want one. They're beautiful. I always browse the auctions and websites, but they're so expensive! I can't understand how people are able to afford one, let alone collect them! Is there some secret to finding them cheap? Since I know people who buy them altogether - painted and put together already, not in pieces. I'd love to have a Naomi dollfie. *points to avatar*

They really are so pretty. I have friends who collect them and it just boggles my mind how they can keep up with it!

I had never heard of them before, either. They are absolutely beautiful! I would love to have one, too. But, ouch on the price. Maybe someday...

Expensive indeed, I finally got my first and she is so gorgeous I love doing her face up and customizing but it took so much hard work to get her. I want to save for my second but it is so much money and I plan on moving out in two years so really I should be saving to move I'll stay with my SOOM gena for now,

I've seen them on Ebay, and yes they are gorgeous. I'll see if I can dig up a seller out of California that I used to have bookmarked. Depending on what you are willing to spend they are pricey ... too pricey for me at the moment. I bookmarked the seller because she also has some unique costume jewllery pieces, and I did have a positive buying experience with her.

They are pricey! I'm not willing to spend more than 500$ tops at the moment. My sister has agreed to help in the fund as a gift, but I still don't want to go too high. I'm actually considering piecing a custom one together myself, since that's generally cheaper. Thanks!

I was on ebay earlier and looked the seller up. dollsbyrhiannon is the username, but she only has dollfie clothes at the moment. Thanks for the rating. I appreciate it. Cheers!

Someday I will have a lot of money and I WILL have a Superdollfie. But that day is not today! So expensive. But they are so gorgeous. I always look at this one womans blog who has a ton of dollfies, and other BJD's, and she customizes them all. I'm always in awe!

Its about saving, and doing a lot of it! it can be done, but not everyone can do it. Giving up some expenditures are also nesessary!

Have you looked at obitsus? They are much less expensive, and fun to customize. I know it takes me forever to save for a bjd, but when I get them, it's totally worth it. I always look at ebay or on forum for sale threads to see if I can find a good deal. Sometimes you can get lucky. A lot of places now also offer layaway on BJDs, which is something else you might want to look into. Naomi is a lovely doll, good luck with having her someday!

Initially I just checked this discussion out because I had no idea what a dollfie was. I now realize I've seen a few at auction and thought they were nice but didn't know what they were (neither did the auctioneer) and had no idea how much to bid. I'll keep them in mind when I start back on the auction circuit the end of the month. Thanks for sharing this info.
