I met Rosa Parks years ago when she came out to the Desert to speak to a group, I once met John Glenn at a party and I would swear that it was that old codger who pinched my bottom. Especially from the way he was grinning when I turned around but there was quite a crush at the party. I met Snoop Dog way back when I was 15 in LA and a few other famous and semi famous people. What about you?

I've met and served dinner to the lead singer of LoneStar, and his family ( I called his little girl a little boy cause of her haircut..I was SOO embarrassed). I've met Darryl Worley (sp), Randy Travis, Ricky Van Shelton, Aaron Tippen, and Dolly Parton. I used to be a waitress at a Waffle House in Tennessee. I've met lots of others too, just can't remember them all. They are mostly country singers. Interesting Topic! Have a great day!

thank you for responding. I won't annoy you by asking what any of those people are like since that is probably what everyone asks and you would not really be in a position to know having simply met them in the course of doing your job.

Not a prob I know whom several of those people are. Honey my mother is from Mississippi. Though I am not a huge fan of country I listen to it every once in a while. Some of the country music that I hear on the radio is quite beautiful and poignant.

Let's see...I met Jerry Springer my sophomore year of high school. He was running as a politician, and one of the teachers at the school knew him and asked him to come in. He's actually a VERY intelligent guy, and a GREAT political speaker. It's such a shame he's judged straight as an idiot from his show. He says he hates the show, but I don't see why he should continue doing it. He's very intelligent he should be known for more than just that. Umm, let's see, Travis Hafner, who's a baseball player for the Cleveland Indians lives in my hometown, and my dad and I see him at the grocery store a lot. When I was about 2 or so, when Clinton was running for President, he was talking to a crowd of people...and Al Gore was waving at people. I guess he turned around and saw us driving by (we were driving by slowly) and he waved at me in my carseat. hehe.

I've met a few Star Trek personalities, a couple of wrestlers, a few movie stars(can't remember all of them off the top of my head), and a few famous comic book writers/artists. I meet all of these people at the same place every year. Oh yeah, one movie star I met was Kenny Baker(Star Wars). He's a very nice man.

yes, actually I have. i met Donald Sutherland once in the San Francisco airport. We chit-chatted a bit as we were waiting to board our flights and I found him to be a very nice guy. I didn't fuss over him and just treated him like I would anyone else. I've also met Aaron Tippin, who's a country and western singer. He's really nice and VERY short! I talked with him quite a lot on several occaisions. Also, I had Maggie Smithh (Professor MaGonagle of Harry Potter fame) and Kathy Najimi (she was in Sister act) and the quiet little nun from Sister act that could sing really well in my taxi, back when I drove one, when they were in Reno filming Sister Act. Oh! And I didn't meet him, but had a close encounter with Billy Idol (who is complete weirdo) at the Reno-Tahoe international airport. That guy is just plain old strange. Anyway, that's about it for my close encounters with the celebs.

OH! I forgot! I was reading some of the previous responses and forgot all about a couple of years ago! I was driving an executive coach for a private charter company and had to work the Tahoe Celebrity Golf tournament. That day I had (those whose names i can remember off of the top of my head) the following people: Connie Chung, Maurie Povich (he's a JERK), Ahmad Rashad, Cheryl Ladd, Rick Roden. I also saw Charles Barkley, but he didn't get on my bus. I also had sooo many football and basket ball players that I could never possibly list them all!

Wow, it's neat how you met so many famous people driving them around! It seems like that's a good way to meet them, driving a taxi. ^_^

I am not sure about all of that and I would hope that is not true. When I met him he was a very nice relaxed confident man. I know we all have faults but I tink that would suprise me if it was true. Either way he is an amazing human being. Take care. Damon

Wow! You've met quite a few famous people. I am a bit too shy to have really met anyone like that in person. I have gotten a couple of autographs in my time, but that is about it. I loved your story about John Glenn, lol!! That is too funny. Thanks for sharing it with all of us! ^_^

Prince Charles and Princess Diana were visiting our city in the mid 80's. I was on her side of the street. She shook my hand and asked what perfume I was wearing. It was Estee Lauder Youth Dew.....I asked her what she was wearing and she told me "Christian Dior's Diorissimo. I promptly went and bought some

Does having your picture taken with a famous person count? I met Quentin Tarantino when I went to a taping of Conan O'Brien. There was a huge mob and I couldn't get near him, let alone take a picture. As he was about to leave, I shouted, "Quentin! I came all the way from the Philippines to see you!" And he's such a sweetie and actually stopped, asked for my name (he looked sincere), took my camera and posed with me! But the most unfortunate thing happened: my card was full! I'm such a loser!
