Do you like to stay in new places in hotels? Camp? Visit family? Do you take your children or arrange care so you can get away for a bit?

Yes I love to go to new places in hotels, to see what they are like as they most of them are different from one another, I also love to go camping it is so much fun but I normally go camping when I go fishing, as for my children they have all grown up now so I am free to go wherever I like on vacations but I used to do this with my children as well when they were growing up.

I was never interested too much in fishing, but loved the lakes we would camp near. Did you camp in a tent or rv?

LOL, as a new grandparent I can see your parent's point! Florida is great, so much to see and do there!

I think most families in the US take their children with them too. An occasional trip for just the couple is nice also.

We did a lot of camping trips when my children were small. Not sure I would call those vacations, seemed more like working holidays, lol.

It depends on where I'm headed, love to backpack and camp, have gotten to a place in my life where I prefer to stay in hotels instead of family or friends, I like to have a place to "chill" and regroup. Love my family and friends but love my privacy too. Step-children are grown and gone - never had my own but if I did I think I would have taken them sometimes and then sometimes not.

I have to admit, now that I am a little older, my favorite campground is the Marriott or Hilton. Can you say "room service"? lol I always enjoy going to new places, and hope to be able to do that more and more.
