The person said on TV, not movies and last time I checked Depp hasn't been on a TV show since the 80's.

Well, it's repeating someone, but I have to say Hugh Laurie, too. He takes a character that could be nothing but a mean, sarcastic creep, and gives him humor and humanity. And, he can do so much with just his eyes. They're very expressive. His playing House is fantastic, especially if you have a chance to see some of his earlier characters back in England. Very different.
