Do you do any other form of "expression" other than writing?

I am a firm believer that an artist is an artist. If you can write you can paint, if you can do that you can "speak" and so on and so on.....
Do any of you Draw, paint, act, do slam poetry, sculpt, film, photograph etc? I am a painter, drawer, writer and poet and I want to do it all! This spring I am heading into the recording studio to "do an album" and I am very part-time(cause i'm lazy!) guitar learner....phewwwwww!

Most definately!! My mind never stops and with the way my thought process works I need to express myself by any means possible of they'll be lockin my a$$ up in 2South LOL...and I agree that an artist is an artist (I tell my kids that all the time) and one doesnt have to be great at it either....My paintings would suck to the outside world, but to me they are an expression of my soul which IMO is what its all about....I dont create art to please anyone outside I do it to get my thoughts and feelings out....to me that is what art is all about....That being said here are mine
writing, painting, drawing/sketching, dancing, photography, sculpting (a new one for me) and singing (though many wish I didnt so I avoid doing it around others at all costs LOL) and cooking actually wish many wouldnt consider an art but I put passion into cooking for the ones I love and I really do create it from my soul which makes it an artform IMO...and sewing which I've not done in yrs but will be starting up again this yr....
both my kids are very artistic as well actually, my son plays bass and guitar (learning) he draws, sculpts and paints and my daughter sings, draws and builds/sculpts and is also learning bass..

I fully agree with you. Isn’t the letter “A” a simple form of drawing? If so, why can’t someone who can write quite fast also draw a picture? Then if you can use your hand to express something then you should be able to do the same thing with your mouth. But the thing is to master all these we have to pursue them. I can very well walk. But how far depends on my tastes and interests.

I write - poetry, some short stories, I do photography, I like to paint - but I'm not so good at it. I dance... not so much anymore. I did acting when I was younger, as well as voice lessons and piano. I want to learn to play bass guitar. Good luck with your album.

Sadly I think all the 'creative' genes in our family went to my sister ... who is a lovely artist and paints wonderful pictures ..
I have written a few poems in my younger years .. but these days I am far too content to have that 'life angst' from where most good poetry is spawned ...
I wish I was more creative ...

I wish I were a better artist. I can write poetry, but I'm not that great at drawing ot painting. I think it's important to find a way of expressing yourself. It definitely depends on the person. When you find some kind of artistic release, I think it can be very calming.

Oh yes, I paint, photograph, draw, sculpt, write, and create through crafting as well. These are all forms of self expression.

I enjoy singing. Singing brings out such joy in me. When I put my all into a song, my spirits are lifted.

hmmm you really are very artistic. as for me, one of my frustrations when i was younger was that i didn't think there was anything special me. there were some kids who were really good in this and that, and i have my own skills but i don't think i'm really good. like, i can write, but am far from making bestsellers.. i can sing, but i'm not the singer material. i can dance, but i can never be J.lo. i can draw--but that's something i rarely do because i don't do so well if i don't feel like it. i can act and do voices, but probably wouldn't pass for theater. so i was thinking before, i wish i just had one talent that would make me really stand out. but then later on i was really thankful i can do all of those things--i'm like the only person in high school who would join a dance, songwriting, journalism contest at the same time while writing/producing, and acting on a full length play. so i guess i'm pretty much well-rounded.

yes i paint but i can't say that what i paint express somethinck.Becouse many people say that i'm verry good on that but i don't thinck that at all...becouse i've never have the chance to go somewhere were to learn something wich stays on the base of painting. So i thinck you do have many way to express...me only on gest's...on gifts...
