Does your cat act more like a dog?

We have this cat named Charlie. He's a beautiful medium haired black cat with yello/gold eyes. We got him from a local shelter while we were looking for another calico, my husband is a huge calico fan. We fell in love with him though so we got him instead.
Anyway, after having him a few days we noticed he started acting more like a dog than a cat. He started chasing my husband and son down the road when they were going for their bike rides. He'd come around the table while were were eating like he was hoping we'd drop something. Until him, none of our cats would ever touch a table scrap, not even meat. There was more stuff that just made me think he was more dogish but those 2 just stood out the most. He is very sweet and loyal all the same and we love him.

my cat use to chase my kids this may seem strange they use to play hide and go seek and tag i never seen a cat that would hit my boys and then run i thought that was strange but cute. i was thinking that maybe whoever had that cat before you bought it maybe a the cat use to live in a house with his past owners and maybe had a dog in the house and the dog probably taught the cat and raised it i dont know just a thought
