here is my recipe
Cream of Broccoli Soup
1 large head broccoli
2 tbsp minced onion
2 celery stalks, minced
1/4 c butter
1/4 c all-purpose flour
4 c chicken broth or bouillon
2 c light cream, scalded
dash of nutmeg, salt & pepper to taste
Wash broccoli and break into flowerets. Cook in small amount of boiling water until tender. Drain and whirl broccoli in blender until pureed onion & celery in butter 2-3 minutes. Blend in flour and stir in broth. Cook stirring, until slightly thickened. Stir in broccoli, cream, nutmeg, and salt.
Makes about 6 servings.

ok here's one i like,
1 teaspoon butter
1 leek, sliced
2-3 cups of reduced salt stock
2-3 cup of water
1 medium pumpkin, cubed
Pepper to taste
In soup pot really cook Leeks in the butter, even if they brown a little.
Add water.
Add stock and bring to the boil.
Add pumpkin
Add water if there isn’t enough liquid, and simmer until pumpkin is soft.
Season with pepper to taste.
Lightly puree pumpkin, but keep it chunky.
Serve hot. Add some cream if you want and more pepper to finish.
Enjoy.
