That a megabyte is actually 1,024 KB now this does not seem like much of a difference but when you get in to hard drive sizes it does one of the little tricks they do is at the bottom in small text say megabyte = 1000kb 1024 megabytes equal to a gig. So if you think about it, there is a difference.

Yeah, this may be a small thing but will affect us when we buy a high capacity hard disk. This is tricky because many people consider this 24megabytes negligible it's like if you buy 100GB hard you actually get 102.4GB right?

Well, Kinda if you buy 100gigabyte hard drive from the store you will only get like 97 gigs of space. This is because on the back they say 1mg = 1000kb and since people think thats the truth anyways, they don't think twice about it.
