Just something that happened a couple of days ago.
I slowed down a bit on the highway because I knew that on on this certain part of the highway, there's usually a state trooper hiding there waiting to catch speeders.
The guy behind me tailgated me, & then cut around me. Then out came the state trooper in his patrol car to pull him over.

Well, if it gives 'em the "I don't like you on my back" message, then mission accomplished.

If you are in the fast lane and someone is on your tail and there seems to be room to move over, it's probably a good idea to do that. If it's a normal street and there is no where to go and they are riding your bumper than I say go for the windshield wiper thing. I thought I was the only one that did that.

Those are good, but how about slowing down a little. it earatates them and they might just pass you when they can.

This is a good one, as I really hate this type of road maniac. One of my friends installed a push button switch to assimilate braking and just touched it a time or two. Not legal but it worked for him. I would advise this as do most law enforcement agencies, slow down gradually until he/she understands that they are not going to force you to break the law by going any faster, this will open more space in front of you for them to pass. Don't pull over as it will train them to do this all the time. When the defiantly pass you and throw a negative jesture your way, just ignore them and don't stop if they wish to talk with you. It's just too dangerous to talk to an idiot.

I hate tailgaters, be it in a car, a queue at the bank or even when I see someone else getting tailgated! I once stepped out of the queue in the supermarket because the person behind me kept bumping my heels with her trolley. But I a bit of a sissy, so I just GLARE at them! Ultimately, life goes on, and they'll get theirs someday, and you get to keep your peace of mind.

I just move over and let them pass me. Otherwise tapping your breaks or cutting on windsheild wipers could cause an argument or wreck.

I just avoid touching the gas pedal just to annoy 'em further. One time I even remembered to turn on my hazard lights & ... well - hopefully made 'em think I was going that slow because of a car problem.

I will tap my brakes and if that does not work I will slow down as much as I safely can untill they go around me.

And that's how ROADRAGE start! Rather calm down and get where you're going safely. How do you know they don't have a sick person in the car that they need to get to a hospital?

I can be somewhat of a rebel too ... especially when you're getting close to fast enough to get s speeding ticket.

I break and then drive even slower...I hate when I'm in the carpool lane w/kids in the car and people are driving like 80-90mph and honking and flashing their lights! It pisses me off because I'm driving speedlimit because I have kids in the car! WHat the hell is their problem after a while if they pass me I just flip them off! But I think tailgating is exteremely dangerous!

My friends tap on their brakes, if the person behind you hits you ....technically it's still their fault for being so close to you.

When I first got my license I was nothing short of a "cocky...well you know." When people would tailgate I'd F with them just to test their nerves as I felt they were trying to test mine. Granted they could have been in a rush for a legit reason, but why wouldn't they pass? It's trouble with a carfull of my friends. Stuff might coming flying out the window at you so watch out! hehe :D

Please just move over and let them go. In life was does that momement really matter? Why risk your life for an idiot?
In my younger days I would have simply put on my emergency flashers ;-), but I have learned that nothing is worth getting killed over by a nut driving a 3,000 pound vehicle.
