What is the difference between Intel Dual Core processor and Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Does it really increases the speed of your computer twice if you use a Dual core processor?

Intel Dual Core = L cache size 2mb x 2 =4mb
Intel Core 2 Duo = L cache size 4mb x 2 =8mb
So Intel Core 2 Duo is faster, since i experienced it before, i am using ASUS P5B-Deluxe AP Edition with Core2Duo 3.4Ghz. Running windows like switching on your TV.
