Awwww, poor baby!!! Don't you just hate to see them and know they're uncomfortable. My friend had a dog that had arthritis too. I made him a big floor pillow, big enough for the whole dog to lie on stretched out fully. I made it out of an old wool blanket, for the warmth, and to add extra warmth, before I sewed it up, I put in a sheet of heavier plastic to hold in his body heat. (So his own warmth wouldn't go into the pillow itself, and would be reflected back to him...think a hot vinyl car seat when you sit on it, gets warm, right?) His dog used to sleep on his sofa, but could not jump up there anymore, so the floor pillow worked out well, he laid on it most of the time. It's hard keeping them comfortable, but this might help a little. I have a German Shepherd too and am hoping she doesn't develop it as she ages. Good luck with your poor baby!

at the pet stores, they have medicines that you can give to dogs with arthritis.
