I think its not to hard to find time for something that you really want to do. I enjoy reading, doesn't matter if its reading online or reading books. I can always find time for reading. You can even read books in the office when you get a break. in the restroom, in the bus/train/metro rail to office. there are many ways, you just have to find them.

Forcing yourself to read is most taxing. Reading should be a source of leisure, not of pressure. If you really can't find the time, why bother? Why stress yourself with not being able to read?
What I think you should do is to find out the reason why reading suddenly became a priority to you. What sparked that feeling of malaise?
Forcing yourself to read can lead you to less appreciation of what you're reading. Worse, it could lead you to hating the book you just can't finish.
But since you're looking for tips, I might as well give some.
A good motivation is to prepare some incentives. Promise yourself a treat for every accomplishment. It could be for finishing the book or just for reaching another chapter.
You could also try to look for company. A group that discusses books can sure motivate (or subtly pressure, if you want a more precise term) individual members. You could discuss particular genres or titles. This will give you the feeling that you're not alone on your reading. Group discussion is a good stimulation of interest.
But the best way will always be finding that particular book which you really are interested with. Intriguing enough (for you) to keep you awake at night. A favorite theme or plot might do the trick. You don't have to delve into deep, profound books. Some no-brainers actually are more engaging.

I like to read for a while before sleeping. Also I carry book with me and read them while I have to wait for something like doctors appointment.

Unfortunately I have your same problem, I never have time for me. My son is 7 and so I have much to do with him, but when I have a little of time, when he is sleeping, for instance, I like drawing, painting or reading a good book.

my advice to you? go read in the bathroom, or when you are laying down to go to bed. when i am eating, i read. no one bothers me. you just have to find different things that you do that don't require much attention. then you can read while doing them. (use your judgement. reading while eating or laying down or whatever is fine, but there are limits!!!)

I always always read before I go to sleep
Its like my rountine. I can't usually go to sleep until I read some.
I can find time here and there to read throughout the day, but its not always and not as common as reading before sleep.

I find the best time for me to read is in bed before goin to sleep..I may only get 15 or 20 mins in depending on how tired I am but for me thats better than no reading at all

Shy to admit, most of the time I get to read peacefully only in the toilet. :-)

I know how you feel, when I was younger I was grounded for enjoyment reading. It's difficult for me to concentrate even with the smallest distraction so I usually do it late at night. When it's nice out, I will read outside in the evening. Usually after dusk, the mouse that lives under our tree will scurry around and I have often found him climbing up my shoe while reading. I sometimes leave him little treats before I am done reading.
Another good way is to go to the library. Early in the mornings is often peacefull, but you may be a little groggy.

When i was pregnant it seem i had all the time to myself, kind of like school, and i read almost all day! Now i cant even find time to read except for at night, but then im too tired. I wish i could get back into reading, the only time i find is when someone drives me somewhere i usually read in the car.

I just make sure I have a book everywhere I go. Sometimes this means I end up reading 2 or 3 books at the same time, but what the hey, I love to read. I read in the bathroom, when I am at the washateria, and when I can tear my self away from this computer.

I take my reading material with me to the cafe, and I read while I'm having my coffee.

Normally I take a bath every night & read. Sometimes it is a book or just a magazine. I had a baby 2 weeks ago & had a c-section so I have not been able to take a bath. I am also to run down to read. i can't wait to start back to my routine of reading every night during my bath though.

The only time I read is before I got to bed. Sometimes, I'll go to bed early, just so I can read. But I honestly don't have time during the day to read....
The problem with that is that I'll really get into a good book and not want to go to sleep at night! lol!

I personally have plenty of time right now, but I find that I am spending too much time on sites like Mylot to get myself to spend time reading like I know that I should *laugh* I read all of three books last year, although I truly enjoyed each one.

I usually read either right before I go to sleep or right after I wake up. I feel more relaxed and can concentrate on reading.
