Kobe is a good player. But he isn't the best. I can name few that are better Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Dr. J, and Magic Johnson. But he is the main reason that the Lakers are winning. He is a ball hog. Thats why he scores so many points in all of his games.

As I said, some people don't actually keep up with the current facts and just quote popular dogma. For anyone who's watched any of the games this season Kobe's been anything but a ball hog. He and the rest of the team have been moving the ball consistently. And there are many games where one or two other players on team score more than kobe because he draws defenders and sets his teammates up for easy shots.
The lakers are winning because they are playing good TEAM ball.

As far as techniques are concerned, I think Kobe is the man. Even if the Lakers are not as good as before, they still manage to win games with Kobe as the highest pointer for every game. However, at the end of the day, it is still the teamwork that counts.

I think so. the kind of leadership he is showing right now seems to justify phil's choosing bryant over shaq's.focusing on team involvement is obvious in this guy.... less point... more assist... reminiscent of the time when jordan was challenge whether he can really carry the team bulls.he showed it by making more assist than making baskets...

I guess a lot of people don't watch the games and just formulate oppinions off of what is 'popular' to say at a given time. Yeah, in times past Kobe had trouble trusting team mates. He couldn't understand how some of them could blow easy shots when he kicked the ball out to them.
But that's been all different lately. The stats shows the lakers as the best passing team in the league, and kobe has been passing first-shooting later a lot lately. He even had that game where he had more assist than points!
Lakers are playing good team ball right now. It's obvious to anyone who watches. But, the popular defacto statement to make is that Kobe is selfish, doesn't play team ball, and doesn't pass, when that is just not true!

Kobe still holds the key to the Los Angeles Lakers, I mean the man alone can put the Lakers in the playoffs as evidence of last year. But in order to take to the next level, or go deep into the playoffs Kobe should learn to involve his teammates like what he is doing now, because in the playoffs its a whole new ballgame, teams will be able to scout and defend Kobe much better since they will be facing each other for at least 4 games. If Kobe and the Lakers want to get back to the championship it should be a team effort with Kobe as their leader. So, I guess its up to Kobe to lead the Lakers back to their Glory days.
