In this day, there is less of a chance that gays will be beaten or killed than there was 20 years ago. There are no more gay people, they just feel less fear.

Absolutely! I agree completely with you cyntrow....and what will be really nice is when the gay community can openly walk around anywhere (state/city/etc) with NO FEAR AT ALL rather than just "less" fear compared to back when ya know...

I can see the day. When my brother came out to his friends 20 years ago, many of them deserted him. When my son came out last year, he lost one. It says alot for the mindset of the younger generation. It does my heart good.

Homosexuality exists everywhere... no matter where you live. Acknowledgement comes with acceptance. In the U.S., a lot has changed over the past 20 years which has allowed homosexuals to feel safe and comfortable being themselves. Homosexuality is NOT against nature- it exists in all nature. Natural variation is all part of how species evolve. I can guarantee you that 10% of all people in the world are gay. Unfortunately, because of fear, many of them will never come out and many of them might not even know it.
