I am not sure they are really but the stresses today are different from those of even 20 years ago. I think that education is only part of it although generally these days children have to stay at school for more years than earlier generations did.
I think there is a lot more peer pressure but if they know right from wrong them they should be okay. Children should be taught that they are individuals and do not need to follow the pack. More freedom I am not too sure about because today they generally have cars younger than we did. I do not think that teens and cars are the best combination.
Children should be encouraged to do their best, be individuals and independant within limits set by the parents. They should also be told every day that they are loved and encouraged to talk with parents about day to day things that happen in their lives. Too much freedom too young is generally not a good idea unless they have the emotional maturity to handle it.

I think they just have different things to worry about than we did, I think the best thing we can do is be there to listen when they need us, other than that there is not much you can do, Teenagers will only let you do so much.

Stress? Teens? At the same time USA and the UK are facing an obesity crisis on the basis of lack of activity?? I don’t think so!
They have better schooling as naturally it always progresses and improvements are made, the increasing freedom in terms of ‘practical’ lessons are far more beneficial to their education.
