I've chatted a lot n i've found its really dangerous if u dnt take care. People have broken their hearts on the net and some have even destroyed themselves. I'd share my experience here and hope others would chip in too.. Once i ws chatting on a technical forum and found a gal with common interests. So we started chatting more often on yahoo, slowly she started getting involved with me emotionally. She used to get upset if we din chat for a day. I tried to get sense into her but she had kind of developed a deep infatuation towards me. To cut the long story short, when i realized things r getting out of hands, i stopped responding to her. 15 days later i got a call from her friend that 3 days ago she had tried to commit suicide by consuming 20 sleeping pills. Doctors saved her after lot of effort and she had given her my number after she recovered a bit. I can't tell u how shocked i was!!!! I immediately gave her a call and talked to her but somehow by god's grace this event had made her realize that she had been stupid all this while and things settled in a few weeks. We still talk every month or so but i can never take that guilt of my mind. I hope people act sensibly when meeting and communicating with people on the net.

I agree with you that we surely need to be really careful of our words while talking on the net with someone.I too have heard about such instances happening now and then, thankfully i have not yet been involved in any of them! I personally feel that it is really stupid of people to fall in love or completely get bowled over by a person, by not even meeting him/her atleast once also! I feel to really get possessive about someone one needs to know that person in and out, and this can never happen unless you physically meet the person over a period of time. I seriously request people on the net to grow up a little and practise practicality in real life.
