It has often been said that there are 2 main personality types - in their most basic form, the hero and the victim .
The hero is the one who will take charge, wade in to the situation and sort it out type of person - usually not so very good at dealing with their own disasters but excellent at sorting out other peoples.
The victim is the one who always seems to get themselves into a situation where they need organising or rescuing.
ie someone whos always late or maybe has debts.
But we each of us contain the ability to be either personality type, One type will always win.
So, Which, on balance, are you?

Ohh yes .. I am definitely in the 'hero' catagory ... I've always been told I am the person everyone would want to have around in an emergency ... I definitely wade in and take charge ... like the time I saw smoke coming out of a garden and spotted flames in the barn ... I swung the car round .. leapt out .. shouted at the young lad who was trying to put the fire out with a garden hose to wait for the fire brigade to arrive .. as soon as I heard the sirens I went into the road .. stopped the traffic by waving my walking stick around .. made them flash their car lights to show the fire engine where to come to .. gave the fire chief a clear account of what was happening and how many people were in the main house ... then came home and left them to it ...
About a week later a very nice lady brought me a bouquet of flowers for helping out ... the fire had been started while she was out and her teenage sons saw the person running away (later caught by the local police ) ..
But I am terrible at sorting myself out .. as all my neighbours know when I was rushed off to hospital TWICE last year ... I am also very bad at accepting help .. but thankfullyI never have needed any financial help from anyone ...
