We use the Wal-Mart generic scoopable. We have had no trouble with it and our cat has never had any GI issues. It is cheaper than the national brand even when there is a coupon on the national brand!

I use OzPet litter. It's wood based pellets and it turns to saw dust when in contact with water. If you use it with a sieve tray, the saw dust falls through to the bottom so the litter stays fresh on the top always.

I use "The Worlds Best Cat Litter" Its a clumping litter that's made from corn. It's totally biodegradable and it won't hurt the cat if it's ingested. I've been using it for about a year now and I find that it's far better than anything else that I've tried.

I buy Cat's Pride scoopable litter. I buy this because it's cheap and because I have two cats I need to use it for. It is a little dusty but it works.

We use an off brand that has no fragrance, is maximum absorbency, it controls odors, and is 100 percent natural. It works well and allows them to claw at it to cover up what they wish. They go in and out so we use it mostly in the winter when they come in to get warm.

Since I have several indoor cats the litter that works best for me is the Tidy Cats Brand. I use the multi cat odor control formula, this is just the traditional non clumping litter. I find it to be absorbent, cuts down on odors and not expensive. My kitties get their litter boxes cleaned each night. I like a clean restroom and they appreciate their restroom being kept clean.
I have heard of the clumping kinds of cat litter but was too afraid to try them after I consulted my vet. Cats love to keep clean and and when they lick their paws some of that clumping litter can be digested and cause intestional blockages. This does not happen often but he had heard of some problems especially with kittens so I have never purchased this kind of litter.
Once I tried the crystal blend cat litter but my cats thought it was fun to throw the little silica crystal balls out of the litter box and bat the litter around the house.
I really liked the Yesterday's News litter--this is litter made out of re-cycled newspapers. It worked great but it was expensive.

I use pine pellets. I do not buy the brand names, insted I buy pine pellets for a wood stove. They are the same thing. I use them because they are all natural and it absorbs the urine and the urine smell. They work wonders. I have 3 cats!

Hi! I'm trying something new with my cat, actually. I read a post on Mylot about how cat litters contain ingredients that can cause cancer and abdominal blockages in cats - Yikes! So, since reading that, I looked for natural cat litters, but the only one I could find was Feline Pine. All it is is pine pellets. It doesn't contain any silica dust or chemicals, it's all natural. The last time I changed my litter box, I put half feline pine and the rest of the regular litter in the box. The feline pine is really absorbing the odor. I don't notice the odor like I would with regular cat litter. I'm phasing out the dusty litter to see if he'll use just the feline pine. The label also says it can be flushed - wouldn't that be nice! So, we'll see how it works out.:-)

I used Tidy Cat clumping formula for multiple cats... I figure if it's strong enough for several cats it should be really good for one. And it does clump and cover odors well.

We use SweetScoop....It's clumping and flushable and made from wheat, so it's biodegradable and won't hurt my cat. The smell of the litter itself is kind of nice and I never smell the cat unless I go days without cleaning her litter box.
