Some guy in the very tropical state of Hawaii has invented a table that allows three people to play ping pong. It is very weird looking. It divides the table into three sections and instead of the traditional green and white table, it's a black and white table. Instead of the standard netting, the "nets" are actually pieces of plexiglass. You may only score in certain sections of the table. He has divised some sort of theory to explain the scoring. I say if you have to know geometery to play, count me out. And you? I can't even play two person ping pong!

Hi, That looks like an interesting concept, although I don't know if many people will go for it. Personally, I think ping pong is best played against 1 person. If you want to play with more people, I suggest playing what I used to play when I was younger, which was "turning" ping pong. Basically, a bunch of people (can be as many as you want, as long as you have the space for 'em around the table). One person serves, then walks to the other side. The person in front of that person then hits the ball, and moves to their opposite side. The next person in line hits, moves on, and so on. And when you miss, you get out. The real fun starts when there are only 3 or 4 left. Because at this point, you won't be walking to the other side, you'll be running :O) (and then, when only two are left, you play the final, like a normal game). Olivier

Yeah! The turning ping pong is fantastic, i played it some times and it's really funny and challenging. By the way i agree that ping pong is best played 1vs1 or 2vs2

I've never heard of turning ping pong. It does sound like a game that would be just fast paced enough and competitive enough to be fun. However, I am a slow white girl.

Goodness ... sounds a bit technical to work out the geometry of where to hit the flippin' ball back to as it hurtles towards you ... But wouldn't it make for an exciting Olympic final ... some of the guys play so fast their hands are almost a blur and how they see the ball coming is beyond me as it's going so fast ... Three grand master table tennis players would be pretty awesome ..

Really weird but not surprising. People have sort of imagination that can invent almost nothing impossible now. I can't play ping pong but I like to watch and I got interested in this news. Thanks a lot.
