My old male is a glutton for petting. As soon as he hears the cachunk of the recliner popping out, he's in my lap. Doubly quick if there is any sort of blanket involved.
My young female is more of a "I'll let you know when I want some petting" kind of girl, but she too is a sucker for the blanketed lap. On lucky days they'll negotiate a truce and he'll be in my lap and she'll be on my elevated feet.

Well, I have thirteen of them, yes I said thirteen.lol. Out of them only one is a big lap cat. He always wants to get on my lap. And I have another one that likes for me to hold him. When I have them both, it is very hard to type on the computer.

Heya, I have two cats and one is certainly a lapcat. He is big and awkward and he hardly fits in your lap but if he is allowed he would be there all the time. Is he is not in your lap he will be sitting at your feet or somewhere close by. The other cat is very affectionate but she doesn't like to be held. She prefers you to bend down and pat her.

Sassy is a lap cat. She waits for my husband to come home from work and she knows she's not allowed on his nurse's uniform, so she meow's quite loudly for him to change and then jumps into his lap. If he stops to talk to me she becomes really mad and raises her volume. What a spoiled little wench!

Both of my cats are lap cats which sometimes causes problems because I only have a one cat lap. My gray calico Smokey usually wins though. I would much rather the other one did though because she'll curl up and sleep where Smokey will climb all over me demanding petting and scratching.

I have three cats, and only one of them will even come close to being a lap cat. One is big and awkward, the other has a wild streak that makes he panic if she isn't in complete control. The only one nice enough to be a lap cat is my 3 year old tabby, who actually would like to never touch the ground again if I could keep holding him.

I have a Munchkin Cat, Cocoa that thinks my desk is his. He would love to be held all day long if I would. Unfortunately I don't really like cats, so I am not about to hold him all day.
I have his bed, food and water on my desk because one of the other cat's won't allow him in the kitchen. She is not a lap cat and she rules the roost...lol
Cocoa drives me out of my mind with his antics all day. He likes to sit on the shelf of my desk knocking down papers everytime he jumps up or down from the shelf. Then he climbs out from under the desk shelf onto my lap and onto the top of the desk. That would be fine if he continued to the right side of it where his bed is. But no, what he wants to do is stand there in the middle of the desk and step on my mouse sending me to strange web sites in the middle of me reading something...lol
I have to pick him up and set him to the right on his bed as no amount of shoving will do it. He's quite stubborn. From there he will walk across the desk onto the book shelf, to the window sill. That lasts about 3 minutes then he begins the process all over again....I am losing my mind with this darn cat.
You can see him in my profile pictures.

Mine is definitely a lap cat... if you are in the right room! She is old and lives in our bedroom, so as soon as you go in there she climbs up on you. She rarely comes to the living room and when she does she is skittish so you can't hold her for long there.
