Family and the holidays

This has helped me alot, just take anything they say that you don't agree with with a large grain of salt. Just let it go in one ear and out the other, don't waste energy fighting or disagreeing, just think to yourself that they are crazy.

I could suggest that you tell everyone that you will be away camping or whatever with your partner and children (if you have them that is), and that will avoid the whole problem. It is so hard because often when families gather there is conflict of some sort not to mention to added people under foot, noise etc. Good luck and hope you manage to retain some sanity.
