Well..! this was also a practical problem for me in past but now no more...! try out to change ur food habbits...and dont get panic dear....! it also effects ur health as well as to ur daily life..!

I tried this and it helped alot. Stay up ALL night on the first night, prefably when you dont have important things to do. You will be tired all day and on the second night try to sleep early, about 9pm, you should dose off no problem because you body will be craving sleep. You should wake up early and then on the next day, attempt to sleep at the same time as the night before.
If your are an insomniac then this wont work but if it is just your body clock you need to adjust, i has a 50% of working i think.

If you sleep late and wake up really early and your young..probably you are insomiac, you need a profesional help.
But if you sleep late and wake up late...its your body clock that you need to adjust. You have to work out on sleeping early like 9pm the latest. Drink milk if you want, avoid caffeine...if you can't sleep still, close your eyes, close the lights, try to listen to night music, mellow music, with your eyes close, of course lying (heheehhheehe) unless you can sleep as you are standing.
