Are "Stay At Home" moms very dramatic or is it really hard work?

I was a stay-at-home-mom for more than 10 years and I can attest to the fact that it's very hard. You don't get days off, sick days, or an 8-hour schedule. You're on duty 24/7, and whatever it is that you think you're children are too young to understand, believe me, they're not.
Being a stay-at-homer is a very rewarding position, but it's by no means easy.

I have done both. I am an office worker now. Yes staying at home is much harder if you have small children. You do not get breaks or even get a moment to relax. You are constantly cleaning up after the child, cooking for the child, changing the child, keeping the child out of trouble, entertaining the child. It doesn't even stop at the end of the day. I would not take anything for the time I was able to stay home with my child, but I think he and I both were ready for me to go back to work way before I did. It is an experience I think all men should do for at least 6 months so they can see just how tough it is. They will be begging to go to work anywhere but home!
