Gay Marriage. To legalize or not to legalize that is the questions.

Marriage- the joining of a man and a woman who plan to spend the rest of their lives together.
Gay Marriage- the passport to hell!!!What a load of crap. Why does it matter so much? Gay people are still people. If they love somebody they should have the right to love them as much as any "regular" couple can. Whatever that means, like theres a regular couple. But anyways if gay people want to get married big deal, if they dont get married your still going to see gay couples anyways doing the same damn things they would be doing if they where married. So you say "why get married if its no differant than being in a relationship?" Well its only the same thing for you to see but not the same thing as to how they feel. We're all differant in our own ways and being differant isn't supposed to be hidden away. America is all about diversity and crap but when it comes to love you stand and turn it away because you thik it's icky! Everyone who is against gay marriage must be really immature or just down right shamful.Love is love no matter what shape or form it comes in. Love is a right we all have no matter who is receiving it.

Amen. Not to mention in America, almost all the arguments against it are religious and we have that whole separation of church and state deal. That thing that says religious ideals and dogma can't be used in the laws that govern our nation.
And it's not the same as being in a relationship. Gay couples aren't afforded the basic civil rights given to married couples. The laws of inheritance, medical beneficiary, and custody are different. Gay couples don't have those rights when even common law heterosexual couples have them.

I really wonder why everyone thinks that a government sanctioned marriage is something holy.
Marriage was around long before Abrahamic religions. Marriage began as a way for a man to be sure he was passing his lands and belongings on to his own child. That's all. Marriage started as a way to keep track of inheritance. There was nothing holy about it. It wasn't until Paul came along and linked marriage to religion that it became a religious institution.
How exactly is a piece of paper that grants certain legal rights something religious or holy?

I don't think this is a good approach to take, but I think it's this argument that those opposed to gay marriage see and hear most. We shouldn't be letting them get married just because "they are going to do the same things either way." We should do it because THEY ARE OUR EQUALS and they have the RIGHT to get married.

defiantly agree gay people are our equals as i mentioned in the early part of my paragraph. THe middle part was only about how negative people percieve it as. Guess i worded wrong!

I think they should legalize it. There is no difference than a young adult getting married. They say the break up rate is high for gays. well As for a woman who jumped into marriage, as manyyoung adults do, I dont think we are the minority. I think that there should be tough laws on marriage, but it shouldnt not include the gays.

I wouldn't worry about it. Eventually it will happen. It's just a matter of time. I don't think it should be legalized separately, but should be amended as another form of marriage as we know it. More simply, marriage as we know it should be defined as a union between any two consenting persons of legal age and no relation. Like I said, it's only a matter of time. The problem in America is that people are too quick to want to deny/take away the rights of others without considering the consequences. As a man married to a woman, I say let homosexuals get married. They are already equal to us, why make it any other way on paper?

We have gay marriage here in Canada, and there have been no problems at all. Letting people marry makes them happy and provides for a stable relationship. It's a complete non-issue.

I think we should not go against the law of Nature and God's creation. It has surely adverse affects. If gay and lesbian culture goes on and where is the chance of motherhood and birth takes place. Only testtubes exists where would be the love?

I don't think we have that problem. The world is overcrowded as it is, and not everyone is gay or lesbian.

Why do people think that if gay marriage was legal, everyone would suddenly become gay?
Maybe it has to do with homophobes often being repressed homosexuals.
Gays and lesbians have been known to exist for a long long long time, and existed even before they could be written about!

I don't get what the problem is? Why can't people be allowed to love who that want to love without reprecussions (besides the whole incest thing and children)? I think some people must not be happy with their lives so they must try and bring others down. We all have such short lives. Why waste it and not be happy?

no i dint think gay marriages should be leagalized.it will give wrong message to the society.but if anybody is interested in this kind of things then nobody should abuse them after all its his/her personal life.and everybody have the right to live his/her own way.but governemt should not take any step about any law.

I completely agree with you. The main arguement against is religious and we are becoming an ever more secular society so there is no reason to believe that gay marriage will not be legalized.

Gay marriage is wrong because it will lead to young people thinking that it is ok to be gay. It is not acceptable. It leads to disease and immorality. Our society should not condone the decadent lifestyle.

as long as it's something you're born with, I think it's legal. But if it's something that you gain because of something in your life, I don't think so. For me, I against gay (not the person) because I think it's not natural and their environment encourage them to make them feel right of what they do.

I have no clue on this one. Perhaps instead of the majority of straight people dictating to the minority of gays, It should be a personal choice made by the people involved. I don't understand gay people (the attraction factor) but I don't feel I have the right to tell someone how to live. If people are happy in whatever type of relationship, then that is what counts. If there were more happiness in a regular marriage, there would not be so many divorces and depression.

Allowed something that was bad in your country then was waiting for destruction that will be obtained by you, did you forget will relate the Prophet Luth that had the very broken group the man liked in a male manner and the woman liked to the woman whether you knew what fell on them then whether you wanted that to strike you also, that the answer from me.

I can understand why a person individually would be against gay marrages, or even some establishments, but for the local or federal government to say that two people that are in love cannot marry, that is just wrong. I am a straight man that was brought up in a conservative christian family, yet I think that if two people want to make that lifelong (what a joke in this day and age)commitment that is entirely up to them. I mean hell I smoke but that does not mean that you have to. Have a great day!!

I am all for gay marriage. Who are we to say who can and cannot get married or love each other? It is just ridicoulous to be honest. Ppl say we should try to keep the "traditions" alive. Well if that is the case, woman should not vote, Blacks should be slaves, and dogs should have more rights than a woman. BULL! Times change!!

Ok, I am not here judging so if a man and man or women and women want to marry I say go for it, the only one whom can judge is GOD.
