Here's a recipe for cookie dough (to which you can add chocolate chips, nuts, raisins or anything else you like!) 175g (6oz) self-raising flour 1 level teaspoon vanilla extract, or cinnamon, or ground ginger (whichever you prefer) 75g (3 oz) brown sugar/caster sugar 50-75 ml (2-3 fl. oz) milk 75g (3 oz) butter or margerine 1. Sieve the flour (and ginger/cinnamon if you're using that) into a mixing bowl. Add the butter/margerine. Using your fingertips, rub the butter into the flour, until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar (and chocolate chips/nuts if you're using them). 2. Add the vanilla extract (if you're using it), and a little of the milk. Stir it in, and keep adding a little milk (then stirring in) until the mixture begins to stick together. Using your hands, make the mixture into a ball, wrap it in clingfilm, and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes. 3. Roll out the dough to about 5mm (1/4 inches) thick on a lightly floured surface, then cut into shapes. Grease a baking sheet, and transfer the shapes onto it. 4. Make a ball of the leftover bits, re-roll it out, and cut more shapes, until all the dough is used up. 5. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180C (350F, Gas Mark 4) for 8-10 minutes. Cool on the baking sheets for about 1 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. (should make about 16 cookies, depending on the size you cut them to).

You're welcome - I hope they turn out great! The great thing with a basic recipe like this is that once you're familiar with it, you can adapt it to your own tastes, and personalise it! I'm always doing that with recipes (usually making chocolatey ones even chocolatier!), and it's lots of fun :-)

I enclosed two recipes below of cookies I have made in the past. They are more than delicious & fairly easy to make as well at the same time! I hope if you decide to try these recipes that you find them rather simple to make. But also when cooked quite delicious to taste as well at the same time! Making cookies in my opinion is fairly easy.. But at first it is all about trial & error. Sometimes you learn as you go when it comes to baking in general. I know this is my experiences with baking. I feel after you get the hang of it.. That it just comes naturally! Have fun baking these delicious cookies! . . Thanks for allowing me to share! xx "Chocolate Chip Cookies." Ingredients are as follows: - 1 1/4 cups of softened butter - 1 cup of cake flour - 1 teaspoon of baking soda - 3 1/4 cups of all purpose flour - 1 teaspoon of baking powder - 1/4 of a teaspoon of salt - 3 large eggs - 1 1/4 cups of sugar - 1 1/4 cups of packed brown sugar - 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract - 1 bag of semi - sweet chocolate chips (I tend to add 1 1/2 bag of chocolate chips as we like that many in ours around our house) Directions are as follows: - First preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. - In a large bowl, combine the two flours, along with the baking powder, the baking soda, & the salt. Set this aside. - In another large mixing bowl, cream the butter with the two sugars. Add the sugar a little at a time to make sure that it is mixed in before adding more. Then add the vanilla extract. - Slowly begin to add in the flour mixture, a little at a time until all is combined. Then mix in the chocolate chips. - Then spray a cookie sheet you have on hand with a non-stick cooking spray. Drop cookies on to sheet (I put 9 at a time) & bake these for 8 - 9 minutes. Or at least until the cookies have begun to slightly brown. Then remove the cookies from the oven & let the cookies rest on the sheets for approx 2 mins. - Remove the cookies from the sheets & then place on a cooking rack or cooled surface. Once cooled serve & ENJOY! "Oatmeal Cookies." Ingredients are as follows: - 1 1/2 cups of packed brown sugar - 1 cup of butter/margarine - 2 cups of rolled oats - 2 cups of flour - 1 teaspoon of vanilla - 1 teaspoon of salt - 1/4 of a cup of boiling water - 1 teaspoon of baking soda Directions are as follows: - First take your boiling water & dissolve the baking soda in it. - Then in a dutch oven, melt the butter or margarine. Whichever you prefer to use. And then add the rest of the ingredients on the list & mix very well. - Then drop the batter you have made on to a cookie sheet & flatten with a fork. Then bake this in a 350 degrees oven for at least 12 minutes. - Allow to cool & then serve & ENJOY! xx
