I am 5 months pregnant and I've been wanting to dye my hair and have a make-over. Just to make sure that Ill still be beautiful even though I look like a ball. But it seems that some old traditional folks said that it is not proper to do so? I was just wondering why , since I saw many celebrities going to the salon and have their hair done and it did not affect their baby at all? I mean would a superstition affect such thing?

Hi !!
Well Im a cosmetologist and I have anwsered this question many of times !!! Yes you can get your hair colored while you are pregnant !!! Although I would recomend that you do go to a salon and not do it yourself though !!! Good Luck !!!

It might make you dizzy but the harm the chemicals can cause by passing to the baby while the organs are being developed is definitely the bigger issue.

It's best not to dye your hair when you are in the first trimester because of the forming of the baby's organs but after that the general concensus is that it's ok. I've dyed my hair through all 3 of my pregnancies and haven't had any issues. If you're concerned though you can opt for frosting, painting, highlighting or using a vegetable dye instead. HTH

hi, veyayu when i was pregnant i used loreal dye, it didn't do me any harm so i don't see why you shouldn't try but keep all windows open and stuff if your doing it at home because them fumes off it are horrible!
