How much weight did you gain and how big was your child??
First child, I gained 58 lbs and she weighed 5lbs 15oz 18 1/2 inches long
Second child, I gained 29 lbs and she weighed 6lbs even and 19 1/2 inches long
Third child, I gained 36 lbs and he was 7lbs 7oz and 21 inches
Its weird the one I gained the most with weighed the least - was this your case?

Like it has already been posted, every child and ever person is different.
I had my first (and only) when I was 19. I went from 125 pounds to 165 pounds. Gaining weight wasn't so much the issue because I was young and thought I would just "bounce back." Not so much...it took almost 5 years and I'm still not quite where I used to me. And wearing a two-piece swimsuit, not in this lifetime :)

For some weird reason (I have no idea why), I ate for 3 or 4 people throughout my pregnancy, but lost 4 kilos. I was induced at 2 weeks overdue, and my girl weighed 2.6kg (length 46.5cm). She was very strong and healthy though, and still is thankfully!

The pattern is that your children weigh about what you did when you were born. Normally within one pound.

With all 3 of my pregnancies I gained around 20 lbs each time. With my first child, I lost all of my pregnancy weight, but I am still carrying extra weight from my other 2 pregnancies.
My oldest son weighed 7 lbs 9 oz, my daughter weighed 8 lbs 1 oz. and my youngest weighed 7 lbs 4 oz. Just a little weird side note here, but when I was pregnant with my youngest, I had a dream that he weighed 7 lbs 4 oz :).

Hello again Sparklez, I gained 65 pounds with my one and only live birth. He was a tiny baby. 5lb 13oz. So as far as that goes it would prove your theory to be true.

I dont have any kids. But my sister gained over 100 pounds with her daughter. She went from 125 pds to 254 pds. Her daughter weighed 6.5 pds & was 17" long. At her daughters 1st birthday party she weighed 234 pds. now her daughter is 2 & she weighs 180 pounds. Thats one of the reasons that I dont want any kids. But my cousin weighed 98 pounds when she got pregnan & when her daughter was born she weighed 105. She was a premie & weighed 1.3 pound, same with her 2nd child. Her last child she gained 14 pounds and he weighed 3.5 pds.

first child I gained 28 lbs, he was 7.3 oz. I lost it all in about four months, second child I gained 24 lbs he was 7.14 ozs. Third child I gained 32 lbs and he weighed 7.1 oz and I lost all of that in five months, last child was 8.14 ozs and I gained 30 lbs and lost it in six months. Then a year after she was born my thyroid went wacky and I started gaining and gaining. It took several doctors and seven years and weight gain of over 100 lbs before they found it out and have been taking thyroid med now for 29 years. It is only recently however I found a doctor who is helping me to actually lose weight and keep it off and he is a naturopath the MD's did nothing but give me pills, this guy said they never did treat my entire thyroid problem just gave me enought to not have heart failure but not enough to lose weight or keep it off and there are other natural things I could do to lose and keep it off and am now doing that I go weigh in tomorrow again. I weigh in usually every two weeks, missed last week due to illness. So far since October I have lost 22 lbs. I will see how much more tomorrow.

Oh every pregnancy is different, now matter how many children a woman has. With my first child, I gained 13 pounds. She was born on time (just 4 days early) but I had a high risk pregnancy the entire time. She weighed in at 5 lbs 7 oz and was barely 18 inches long. Tiny for full term, by today's standards. My second child I gained 20 pounds. She was born 7 lbs 2 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. She was also a week early.
I guess it depends on what changes your body is making at that moment to prepare for carrying another human.

In my opinion pregnancy is different it doesnt matter that how many births that a mother gave i think probably after giving birth of her first child every women can gain from 12 to 15 pounds every women will suffer from a high risk pregnancy entire time every women weighs according to their childs weight i guess that it mainly depends on what the changes of our body is to make at that moments to prepare for carrying another child.

I gained about 40 lbs with each of my five pregnancies and lost it very quickly after the birth. Over all the pregnancies, I probably retained about 14 lbs but I'm happy about that. I was too thin before them.
I have five sons. My first and smallest baby was 10 lbs 8 ozs and each one was bigger than the last. The fifth boy was 13 lbs born. They are all strong, healthy men now and all are over 6 ft tall, the tallest being 6 ft 6 ins.
My doctor says it was easier for me to have 13 lb babies than for most to have 6 lb ones. They were all natural births and I've never had stitches.

I have 1 daughter and I didn't even start gaining weight until I was 5 months pregnant. I wound up gaining around 40lbs. When my daughter was born she was 8lbs, 10 oz and 20 inches long. She was right on time, she was born just 25 minutes before her due date. She was due on the 10th but was born at 11:35pm on the 9th.
In your case it does seem like its the more you gained the less the baby was going to way. Was most of that weight water weight?

My case was a little bit different and then with the later children, weight was determined by medical complications as well. I can't remember lengths right now but boy do I remember the weights...lol. Here we go:
First child - gained 60 lbs. and she weighed 6'15'' (to term)
Second child - lost 10 lbs. and he weighted 7'6'' (5 weeks early)
Third child - gained 10 lbs. and he weighed 8'10'' (2 weeks late)
Fourth child - gained 5 lbs. and he weighed 4'10'' (7 weeks early and lots of complications)
Fifth child - gained 15 lbs. and he weighed 8'8 1/2'' (5 weeks early)
Sixth child - gained 20 lbs. and she weighed 7'4'' (4 weeks early)

My mom gained 65 pounds with me, and I came out only 6 lbs, 6 oz, but I ended up growing up to be a big athletic dude - 6'1, 210 right now. I don't know how much she gained with my sister, although she was also 6 lbs, 6 oz.

I only have one child. I gained about 49 pounds with her, and she was only 6.7 pounds. I gained so much because I had pre-eclampsia and gained quite a bit of water weight.

I was 17 when I had my first baby and I gained 26lbs. She weighed 6lbs and 15 oz when she was born.
I was 21 when I had my second baby and I gained 31lbs. with her and she weighed 6lbs and 2oz when she was born so that held true for me as well. Kinda wierd
