How many people have very vivid dreams?

My dreams are very vivid at night, to the point that sometimes I am still angry or upset by what happened in my dream. I have been mad at my husband for hours because of what happened. And I can't help it.
One night I had a dream that my daughter got really hurt and I woke up crying and felt really sad for the whole day. It was awful. This happens at least twice a week. I wish I knew why and what maybe tiggers it to happen. I thought maybe it was the food I hate, or the mood I was in when I feel asleep. But, I have kept track and I can't figure it out.
Does someone have any advice or are going through the same thing?

I to have very vived dreams. They get so bad that i fight with my husband in the middle of the night and he had to hold me down so that i dont hurt him. I've felt myself stop breathing and then when i took my next breath i woke up. That one was very strange. It felt so real that i needed to check on my baby just to make sure that it was a dream. I know that my problem was the medication that i was on. I stoped taking the meds and now i'm doing a little better.
Some advice to help you out. It sounds like you are a little stressed or over tired when you go to bed at night. You are restless and this is what brings on the dreams. You dream when you are half awake and half asleep. You need something that will let you fall into a good sleep. Try taking a couple of tynoel pm and see if this will help you sleep better. If this does not work then don't be scared to ask your doctor about what you can do to help you sleep. there is a lot of things out there that can help. Good luck

My best advice for stopping some of those dreams would be to ask God to stop you from deaming those kinds of dreams. I have recently had some trama in my life, I was reliving it everyday in my head. It was awfull. I was talking to a friend of mine and telling her, she told me to pray about it, to ask God to take the image from my head. It worked, now it doesn't replay in my head all the time. I have had some vivid dreams too, to where when I woke up I was angry with my family. Good Luck and I wish you nice dreams.

I have to agree with this, I do it too when my dreams get so bad, or vivic that I cry when I wake up. I haven't been getting them lately because I asked God to stop then. Even if you don't believe in him.. I've found that if you really want something to happen, or to stop, and you ask for it repeatedly, it'll work. Good luck.

i have a very vivid imagination so my dreams are also the same. sometimes i feel very emotional and wake up crying even when in my dream i just lost a paperclip or something. obviously, if this happens often, you're not sleeping very well. maybe you are stressed and you don't even know it. my advice is, if you believe in God, pray. and if you don't try to think and reflect on your life and see if you are really happy. maybe there's something that's upsetting you that your conscious mind just refuse to accept.

Yes they do. And I know that my husband would not do that to me too, but I still feel a little mad at him.

I do get vivid dreams too. That happens to me before. I woke up and I feel mad still but after few minutes I had to help myself calm down and forget about it after all I knew then it was just a dream. I had to tell my lover, I got a very bad dream and am still mad at you it looks so real. He just hug me and after few minutes, i was fine.

I don't always get vivid dreams, but the ones that I usually do have generally end being nightmares or...the sort I don't want to end lol, if ya catch my drift. Unfortunately, the ones that happen the most are the more nightmarish sort, usually having nothing to with horror, but being cheated on, losing a job, what have you, to the point where I wake up angry, crying, or just feeling extremely overwhelmed with sadness, anger and so on. There have been times where the dream got to me so badly, that it affected my mood for the whole day, if not the following.
My advice? It sounds cheesy, but doing something relaxing tends to help me, whether that's watching a good movie or reading a good book to distract myself, going out for some fun, taking a nice, hot bath or trying some stretching/breathing techniques, like yoga (as rare as that may be for me lol). I would even recommended giving these a shot before going to bed. I think maybe addressing the things that are upsetting you so much in your dreams might also help. My guess is that these are things you're, more or less, worried about really happening (obviously with your daughter), rather than based on what foods you're eating or the moods you're in before going to bed, and may need to be looked into further.
Hope you get things figured out and a decent week's worth of sleep. I know, it sucks lol. *hugs*

I don't think I would be able to handle it if one of my family members die, especially my children. Maybe I am dreaming about one of my fears. Like my fear of spiders. I do have dreams, actually nighmares, about them. Weird.

LOL !!!!!!!! I have very vivid dreams. I feel the blows if I'm fighting, etc. But the most vivid ones I had was when I found out that I was pregnant and I quit smoking that VERY SECOND after more than 15 years. I used to dream at night that I was smoking and I actually FELT the smoke going down my throat into my lungs and then blowing it out. WEIRD!!!!! I had that same dream for over 2 months after I quit, lol. My daughter is 1 and 3 months old and I haven't smoked since. Yaaaaaaaayyyyy!!!!! Yes,please...an applause for me,lol.

I hope I don't need to see a therapist just yet. If it continues, I might. Congratulations on quitting smoking. I wish my husband would quit.

I'm sorry, I got carried away remembering that weird dream. My advice to you is to go see a therapist. Explain what you feel when you have one of those dreams and maybe that person could help. Make sure you ask if that therapist has any knowledge of this type of problem. Take care and I wish you the best of luck in finding the answers you need to be at peace.

Me too! I hate that. Someone told me to leave a journal next to my bed, so I can write my dreams down. I don't I would ever want to read it though. It might not make sense.

I sometimes have good dreams too. And sometimes they are really bad. I am deathly afraid of spiders and I will have dreams where I am in the Amazon jungle and there are spiders everywhere. I wake up sweating and my heart racing. Thank God I have my husband right next to me so I can wake him up and have him hold me. I don't think I would be able to go back to sleep if he wasn't there.

Well it's pretty common to have vivid dreams,i too have them once a while but not as often as you do but i guess that you need to destress yourself a bit and try to stay away from any sort of medicines.
You can also do a bit of meditation, but i think the best and the most enjoyable way to get rid of vivid dreams is to watch a nice romantic with your husband cuddling up.

Vivid dreams are dreams in which you know you're having one, and still semi-concious. Is this the type of dream you're talking about? Or are just really angry when you wake up?

They are dreams where you are still sleeping, but you are involved in your dream, you feel like it is really happening.

Dreams are nothing but the outcome of our thought of daily routine. You get a certain type of dream what you have alreay or you are thinking abou it. The one of the most easiest way to get rid of these kind of dreams is to start thinking good. Think positive for everything, in your work, in your memories, with your relations with others, just every thing. Then believe me, you would not need to take any medicine.
Some of the tips I can give you are as follows:
1. Make your daily life rutine full. Early to bed and early to rise.
2. Walk everyday in the morning. Feed your brain and blood the fresh year of morning.
3. Eat light for brearfast and dineer. Heavy food should be taken in luch, at evening perfer some snacks or anything which you like the most.
4. Talk with others about your problems. Yes you it may be you can't talk all your words with eveyone. Make any one your best-friend whome you can talk everything. It will keep your heart light, weightless.
5. Love all. Make some charity.
6. After having dinner, always walk some steps, if possible gossping with others.
7. Say good night before getting sleep.
Just try these some simple methods and tell me what happens to you.

Very good advice. I try to do most of that already, but if everyone did that, this world would be a better place. And no more bad dreams:).

My dreams don't tend to seem that vivid at times becuase they can be so surreal, but i have had (at times) very upsetting ones that are hard to get over, and I sympathize with what you are going through and hope that some of the suggestions that you have already received will help you out. I'm especially sorry for the dream that you had about your daughter. That must have been so awful because it felt so real, even though you knew that it was a dream! I really hope that these dreams stop happening for you soon. I wish you all the best! ^_^

Thanks so much for caring. It was awful and I am glad it hasn't happened again, but I was really afraid to go to sleep for awhile because I thought it was going to happen again.
