Can anybody explain Meiosis and Mitosis, i leart it in early ages

Mitosis is division of diploid nucleus into 2 diploid nuclei, meiosis is division of diploid nucleus into 4 haploid nuclei

According to my knowledge mitosis is division where the daughter cells have same numbere of chromosomes as the parent cell and meiosis is the division where the chromosomes of the daughter cells are halved.
