How do you get a child to eat something he doesn't like or never tried?

I have 2 boys ages 5 and 6. They are super picky eaters. They hardly ever try anything new and only have a couple of foods they like. I worry they are not getting a balanced diet. What methods/recommendations do ya'll have?

If they have actually tried it and do not like it,then hopefully you can find a substitute for what you feel they are missing for their diet. If they have not tried it and SAY they don't like it,it is possibly from watching someone else trying it and not liking it.There are other ways to introduce these into their meals. Whatever you decide,I am sure the boys will grow up big and strong and the "book" of balanced diet is just a guideline.

Hm...tricky situation for anyone here. What i suggest is, try eating it yourself and make it seem like more tasty and they might be tempted to taste it once or get some playing thing while they eat and this may divert theirattention and they might eat while playing these...ha....ha...as i don't have kids, these are only my views.....
