How dangerous is your toothbrush?

Beware of news reports claiming millions of fatal germs are living on your toothbrush. These headlines can be misleading. The doctors said that the human body is exposed to germs daily and there's no evidence to suggest bacteria on your toothbrush will lead to specific oral infections. They said that rinsing your brush well, shaking off excess water, and drying it out between uses is enough to maintain sensible hygiene. Be sure to change it every 3months.

Think of it, your toothbrush is left in the washroom or in the bathroom where the traffic is high. You brush your teeth and the germs are mutiplied by the steam and humidity from the shower---a perfect environment to breed germs. I always rinse my brush under very hot water before I use it again and I also change it every 3 months.

I've had my bare hand up a horse's bum, I'm not too worried about germs on my toothbrush. I'm exposed to germs all day. I change my toothbrush enough, and my mouth is fine. Interesting that news reports are using scare tactics like that.

Its very true that such reports are being published in newspapers and also being shown in news channels. But its not clear whether such reports are baised ones. For a safer and healthier teeth,it is always recommended to change the tooth brush every six months.
