It can get so expensive and I heard that there are now alternatives to taking your clothes to the dry cleaners. Someone told me about products that can be used in the dryer. Anybody know about these or other ideas?

There's a product out there called DryEll (at least in the U.S.), but I hear from some that it doesn't work very well, and it's also pretty expensive.
When it says "Professionally Dry Clean Only" you HAVE to dry clean it at a dry cleaners. But if it doesn't.. You can usually hand wash it and lay it flat to dry or hand wash it and dry it on a drying rack (which you can buy from Target for like $10).

You used to be able to get some sort of cloths that go in the tumble drier.
I tend to just put them through the washer anyway, it depends on what they're made if, most natural materials are fine, just do a gentle wash. I've even done a sweade (like fluffy leather cant spell it sorry )jacket before and it survived.
I used to have a swede block for my jacket too and it worked quite well.
