I would probably spend $100 on myself. Put $500 to current bills, and put $400 into my Roth account to save for retirement.

I would pay on our car loans. We have been robbing Peter to pay Paul these days. A payment alwasy suffers when you have to choose between utilities, food, rent and loans.

In all honestly, $1000 isn't all that much money... Unfortunately, I would probably pay bills with it. We'd probably go out to dinner one night, but otherwise it would go to bills.
My daughter has been ill since last October (and is still having a lot of problems) so I've missed a lot of work, making the paychecks smaller and the bills keep increasing. So the $1000 would help to pay a few bills and at least give us a little break...

I am very sorry about your daughter. I do hope she is better now.
My husband is out of work, just got laid off, and I sure know what it is with bills mounding now. No money coming in.

I would pay off all my bills. What would you do with 1000 dollars?

Realistically I would probably find some way to blow it quickly, the smarter thing would be to pay up some of my bills. It would be a serious struggle but I am at the point that I am realizing it is more important to spend a little less on stuff and get my bills paid up.

I would spend some of it on charity, probably through our local church, or into a foundation for that church so it can multiply and be used indefinitely. Any other extra money goes on bills or on continuing education.

If I were to inherit $1,000 , I would just spend it for my grandmother hospitalization. Since she is in the hospital right now, I don't really mind spending the whole of it to the hospital bills and medicines. Besides what is $1,000 for the life of my grandmother. Anyway I owe her more than than.

Oh if I were to inherit this money, I think I would pay off some bills with it. Really a thousand dollars doesn't go far if you are a homeowner with three children, lol. But I could make some dents in some bills I have for sure. And I'd probably have to buy a little something for all of us as a special treat. It's nice to be able to spoil ourselves every now and again and as it would basically be like free money, that's what I'd do with it :) Great topic.

I would use it to pay bills. It would be swallowed up before we knew it.

I'd put it in a savings account with high interest so I could earn from it while I planned my trip to London! Then I'd use that money to pay for my trip to London.

Well I have to say...the heck with the bills, they'll still be there....Right after I pack my bags and book a flight. I'll be heading to Washington, usa. I'll be visiting with my friends and family for 2 weeks and then flying home. I'mm sure the bills will have waited for my return. I think that the person who left you the money would want you to enjoy it however you saw fit.

If I had suddenly come into $1,000 I would pay off some bills. I hate bills but seems like we just cant get caught up.
