I really love cooking but it seems that cooking doesn't love me...hahaha...seriously! I love to cook but everytime I cook a dish or something it just turns out to be a disaster..I can't even cook a simple dish without the help of my husband. I really need help! I want to be able to cook for my husband and my kids..I know I have the passion for cooking but I just don't have the talent. What can I do? I surely need an advice!

practice makes perfect. a few burnt vessels and a dirty kitchen should only strengthen your resolve. And soon you'll know where you went wrong. Cooking is like chemistry in the early days. or like man learning about fire. Nothin like a self cooked meal tho

For me, cooking is both. I love food, therefore I love cooking!! I learned to cook from my parents, and it has been something that I have perfected as years passed. But I must say, it is tough...and being that you have a love for it, I believe that the more you cook the better you will be at it. I advice you to try new dishes...things that you have never eaten before. Although there are a lot of things I do not eat, that doesn't stop me from making them! And don't be afraid to change the recipe a little. When people compliment me on my talents...I reply by saying 'thanks, I owe it to my creativity!'

some people are born with the talent that allows them to create tasty dishes effortlessly but what makes a dish more special is if it is created with passion..

cooking - a chief cook demonstrate his actual cooking on the table of the customer. This is a korean restaurant.
its both, but its the passion that's important. I mean there are people born who grow up with the own knowledge or learn fron it from somebody, that's a talent and that came along the passion. Its passion because you like doing it. It's in the heart of the person. When you have the heart to do it you can do best result in your cooking.

I think it's a talent. But in order to enjoy your talent you must have passion in it. What do you think?

I completely understand! I would enjoy cooking more also if my meals came out better! I have found the answer to my problems! I have been visiting www.allrecipes.com They have tons of recipes on the site and you can set up your own recipe box to store recipes that you like or want to make. It gives clear, simple directions too. You can type in a word and see what kind of recipe goes with it. Also, crock pot meals can not be destroyed (I dont think!!)So, check out crock pot recipes or buy a cookbook specifically for the crock pot. Be patient, take your time and dont give up! Practice makes perfect! I made blueberry muffins today from scratch for the first time ever! So, I know there is definitely hope for us who need a little extra encouragement!

I started watching the food network channel and slowly I learn. If I can do it, you can too so don't give up.

The passion for cooking is a great start. That should give you the motiviation you need to keep trying and getting more practice. Like the old saying, Practice Makes Perfect. Talent does help but it can be acquired. Have you thought about taking a cooking class or two? Not only do you pick up great cooking tips but they're alot of fun. And then just practice as often as you can! And before you know it, you'll not only be surprising others but also yourself with what you can accomplish. Blessings to you.

Both! I can cook almost anything and love doing it. It is a passion to start a meal and be creative about it, instead of just dumping ingredients together. That takes talent. Of course you have to be familar with the ingredients and know which goes or not go with something else, or WHAMMO! garbage city. :-)

if you have a passion to cook go with it the talent of cooking isnt always something that you just know you need to learn to have a talent sometimes...i myself have a passion to cook and i have the talent now why? i took cooking classes in high school and learned tricks of the trade and have a tech degree in food service....i still make dishes that turn out horrible but you know what so what its all apart of learning what taste good together... recipes are a cooks best friend gogle emiril or cooks.com and you'll find thousands of recipes alter them add your own flavor to it and make them your own...COOKING IS A PASSION learn the talent

I was in a siular predictament I love to cook and had some what of a talent but when i was first married a year and a half ago I had BAD LUCK and my hubby is soooo picky. I made a pot roast and I must pick the toughest piece of meat, then I accidently dried out a turkey because I thought you could keep it in an oven to keep warm NOPE! I knew I was a good baker and stuck to that. So One day a friend told me go on food network's website look at the recipes get the 5 star easy one and follow the directions you do fine. Truthfully she was right I started doing that and I was getting raves on the cooking and taught me more on what to do and dont do.

I completely understand. Cooking is not for everyone and although I love a home cooked meal, I hate the preparation and clean up. Just thinking about that makes me discouraged about even starting the meal I am so desiring. :o)

Sounds like your husband is good at it so get him to teach you! Watch some of hte programs on the Food Channel. They have some good tips there too. There is also a book called "cooking for dummies." that might help you learn. If you really want to learn, perhaps there is a cooking class at your local community college or high school continuing education.
