Help! Need to get some advise about getting yourself involve with politics / myLot

I had this dream of becoming a politician. At frist it was like a funny joke . Me, as a politician. But it seems this past month I really really want to become one. I need help . I need to know what do you think are the advantages on being a politician and what are the disadvantages of it.

advatages are you get paid, when you are elected then get kicked out at an election for the rest of your life you get a pention. You get to help people. I am from australia so this may not aply to you.
